Power System Overview:

The Traxxas Velineon™ VXL-4S Waterproof Brushless Power System Combo delivers extreme performance with the Velineon 540XL brushless motor and VXL-4S ESC. It features high-resolution linear braking for precise control, built-in telemetry, and a selectable 6.0V or 7.4V BEC. Designed for 14.8V LiPo power, it provides massive torque, while an extra-large heat sink keeps the ESC cool for longer run times. Plus, it's waterproof for all-terrain action.

About the Power System

Velineon™ 540XL

The Traxxas™ Velineon™ 540XL brushless motor is designed for performance, delivering big torque with efficiency and durability in a brushless system. It features 6.5mm bullet connectors for reliable power, ensuring optimal performance in high-demand conditions. As the standard replacement motor for several VXL vehicles, it provides a direct fit, making it a powerful option. However, it is not intended for marine applications, as it is specifically engineered for high-performance ground RCs.

VXL-4S

The Traxxas Velineon VXL-4S features a high-voltage BEC with selectable 6.0V for standard servos and 7.4V for high-performance servos, adjustable via the Traxxas Link app. Its High-Resolution Linear Braking, a patent-pending innovation, provides ultra-smooth and precise braking with instant response. This allows for precise speed adjustments, aggressive late braking, and improved control on the track. The Traxxas Link app also enables fine-tuning of brake force to suit different conditions and driving styles.

Versatility

The Traxxas Velineon™ VXL-4S Waterproof Brushless Power System Combo is a high-performance upgrade designed for direct bolt-in installation on several Traxxas models, including the Raptor R™, Rustler™ 4X4. The ESC will fit in the Stampede™ 4X4, and a Traxxas Receiver Box (TRA9030) is required for proper installation into the Jato 4X4 BL-2s, Rally 4X4, and Slash 4X4. To maximize performance, recommended upgrades include the Traxxas Extreme Heavy Duty Suspension Upgrade Kit (TRA9080), a Traxxas Complete Center 4X4 Differential Kit (TRA6780 or TRA6780A), a battery expansion kit, and suspension tuning to accommodate the system's added weight. Additionally, a five millimeter pinion and spur gear set and a six or seven-tooth increase on the pinion gear are suggested to optimize gearing for the lower motor kV rating.
